Our History
Growing up in Conroe since 1970, Jay Adams learned much about the construction process at a young age, from land clearing to finish carpentry. Upon graduating from Conroe High School in 1980, Jay spent 16 years in the electrical wholesale industry, where he learned that sales and service go far beyond placing orders day after day. Always wanting to learn & improve himself, Jay started out on this construction journey in January of 1998, focusing on residential renovations and custom homes under the name Jay Adams-Builder.
With Jay's focus on quality service & customer satisfaction, the business quickly expanded into other areas of construction, including commercial retail spaces, metal building construction & light industrial projects. As growth continued and in tribute to the men in the family, Jay decided in 2004 to change the business name to MJR Services to better position the company for projects of interest.
After growing up around the business, Matt has followed in Jay's footsteps since graduating from Willis High School in 2005. Today, Matt continues to grow and improve the business, managing the daily operations from estimating to project management. Renner also grew up around the business, watching Matt and Jay, and he spent some of his summer days working alongside his father. Sadly, Renner passed away in September 2021 at the young age of 18, but he remains a part of the business today through his namesake.
Today, MJR Services offers a wide range of construction capabilities from Design/Build projects, Construction Management, and large-scale commercial & industrial projects of all complexities to Turnkey Metal Building projects.
Since the days of Jay Adams-Builder, MJR Services guarantees the highest levels of integrity, professionalism, and quality. Still true to this day, we believe that “Our Success is your Satisfaction”.
Taylor Macon
Taylor Macon joined our team in January of 2021 after working in the large-scale commercial construction industry for 16 years as a Project Superintendent. Taylor brings a wealth of knowledge, a positive & can-do attitude, and has the unique ability to make friends with all he works with daily. He knows no strangers, and everyone enjoys working with Taylor on jobsites. He has been a huge part of growth & success for many years.

To provide the highest level of quality and service, MJR Services adheres to all safety and regulatory guidelines and standards. Safety training and continuing education are performed annually to keep our employees and operators current with ever-evolving requirements. With our memberships and adherence to multiple Vendor Qualification platforms, you can be assured that we aim to protect our clients and our entire team by making sure everyone goes home safely every day. Compliance with these platforms prepares us for the most stringent projects in the industry.
